Anna Malkina, MD

HS Associate Clinical Prof

Dr. Anna Malkina is a nephrologist who specializes in diagnosing and managing acute and chronic kidney diseases, hypertension (high blood pressure) and kidney stones. She is passionate about patient education and engaging patients in self-care.

Malkina earned her medical degree from the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine, where she was especially active in caring for patients at the Student-Run Free Clinic Project. She completed a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in nephrology at UCSF.

Malkina is interested in educating future physicians in the field of nephrology. She teaches in both hospital and clinic settings. Her honors include the Arnold P. Gold Foundation Humanism in Medicine Award from UC San Diego Health Sciences and the Andy I. Choi MD Memorial Scholarship from UCSF.
