Alison Rustagi, MD, PhD

Assistant Adjunct Professor

Dr. Alison Rustagi is an Assistant Professor at UCSF and a primary care doctor in the Division of General Internal Medicine at the San Francisco VA. Dr. Rustagi’s focus is on precision prevention. The goals of her research are to maximize the benefits of preventive health services such as cancer screening, minimize their harms, and improve equitable access, as well as harmonize best practices for implementation. At the VA, she studies the epidemiology of screening for lung cancer, a disease for which veterans have a uniquely increased risk. She also has an interest in gender equity within medicine.
