David Li, MD, BA, BS

HS Asst Clinical Professor

Dr. David Yujie Li is a nephrologist who cares for patients with kidney disease. He is committed to providing his patients with care that aligns with their goals and is supported by high-quality research.

Li is passionate about medical education. He teaches medical students, residents and fellows who want to better understand kidney disease.

Li earned his medical degree at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. He completed a residency in internal medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and a fellowship in nephrology at UCSF.

Li received the Anitha Toke Memorial Scholarship from UCSF and a Campbell award from the American Society of Nephrology. He completed medical teaching certifications through the UCSF Health Professions Education Pathway and the Vanderbilt Academy for Excellence in Education, as well as training in the Vanderbilt PRIDE (Pursuing Respect, Inclusion, Diversity and Equity) Program.

When not at work, Li enjoys being outdoors, reading and spending time with his husband.
