Krishan Soni, MD, MBA, FACC is an Interventional Cardiologist and an Assistant Professor in the Division of Cardiology at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF).
Dr. Soni earned his BS in Economics and Molecular Biochemistry & Biophysics at Yale University and received his MD and MBA degrees with a focus in healthcare operations and finance from the Yale Schools of Medicine and Management. He completed his medical internship, residency and chief residency at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) medical center. He was honored to serve as the first Chief Resident in Quality Improvement and Patient Safety in the Department of Medicine at UCSF. In this role, Dr. Soni dedicated his time to research and teaching activities focused on improving the delivery of high quality cost effective care to patients. Subsequently, Dr. Soni completed fellowships in clinical cardiology and interventional cardiology at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), where he also served as a chief fellow. He joined the University of California, San Francisco cardiology faculty in 2016.
Clinical Interests: Dr. Soni is an interventional cardiologist with expertise in general cardiology and interventional cardiology, using percutaneous diagnostic and therapeutic techniques to diagnose and treat patients with coronary disease and a wide variety of cardiac conditions.
Research Interests: Dr. Soni remains dedicated to improving the quality and value of care provided to cardiovascular patients and is involved in numerous projects within the cardiac cath lab and the Division of Cardiology. He continues to fulfill his passion for medical education and actively teaches medical students, residents and fellows at UCSF.
