Myat Soe, MD, MS
Assistant Clinical Professor
Dr. Soe is an academic endocrinologist who cares for patients with general endocrine disorders, and endocrine neoplasia (tumors of endocrine glands) including thyroid cancers, pheochromocytoma/paraganglioma and other adrenal tumors. Soe's research interests stay in the arena of radioactive iodine refractory thyroid cancer and identifications for risk factors for metastasis in pheochromocytoma and paraganglioma.
Dr. Soe earned his medical degree at University of Medicine Mandalay, Myanmar. After medical school, he completed his graduate degree in Health Science at Western Illinois University. He completed Internal Medicine Residency including Chief Residency at Prince George's Regional Hospital of University of Maryland Medical System. He then joined University of Massachusetts Medical School (UMMS) - Baystate as academic hospitalist while pursuing fellowship in Medical Education. Dr. Soe completed Endocrinology fellowship at University of California San Francisco.
Dr. Soe has received numerous academic distinctions in many basic science and clinical disciplines throughout his medical school years. He also received young achiever recognition by American College of Physician in 2015. He was the recipient of Martin Broder Award - The Best Teacher of the Year at UMMS in 2017 and 2018.
