Assistant Clinical Professor

Triveni DeFries is a physician board-certified in Internal Medicine and Addiction Medicine. She practices primary care and addiction medicine at San Francisco General Hospital and is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Division of General Internal Medicine. She is the director of the UCSF Health & Human Rights Inititiative in the Institute of Global Health Sciences, a program that provides forensic medical evaluations for immigrants seeking humanitarian protection, and co-leads the national Asylum Medicine Training Initiative.
